This place is nothing, if not consistent. The concept of a higher end sports bar serving a varied menu really works here.

The service is good and never "in your face" to rush you, at least that's been my experience. Their salads, soups and sandwiches are staples of, well, consistency.

Their dinner specials rival any of the mid-range chains such as Fleming's. I'm surprised they haven't opened other locations.

I have been coming here for a while and the best food items are the burgers with a side of their own bbq sauce and the quesadillas because of the different red tortillas they use. Its also good to watch games in the bar area but if the crowd is to big, you cant even think about getting a seat. Overall cool place to hang and the only true sports bar in buckhead.

I've never eaten here but have come here often to have a few beers and watch the game.  I really like the atmosphere here- a nice upscale sports bar but doesn't seem stuffy or trendy.  The huge main wall TV is awesome too.  They also have one of these cool looking simulated screens that seems to be suspended in the air.  It also seems to be a big Boston Red Sox bar, which is always a bonus.

UPDATE

I met up with a friend here for a quick drink.  It was  a midway meeting point.  Four stars because the bartender was great.  He recommended a wine for me, then let me taste it first.  Nice!  Also, I didn't get to eat any food but, what I saw looked and smelled great.

One thing that I didn't like was that they still allowed smoking inside.  We were there for almost an hour smoke free, then a few people lit up and ruined the fresh air atmosphere.  Definitely a loss of a star on that one, which leaves Dantanna's with three stars.

---
Already a little tipsy off that DiSarrano, I headed here with my girl friends to have some fun.  One of my girls was having a "Waiting To Exhale" moment so, she wanted to get out of the house.  Dantanna's ended up being our choice because pretty much everything was closed. It's a nice location.  The bar area is pretty large and spacious and the bartender was cool.  He was attentive and knew how to pour the drinks.  The rest of the restaurant I didn't get to check out because my butt was glued to the bar.

As the night progressed, people started smoking.  Yuck!  The ventilation system must have been broken because it stunk.  Otherwise, this is a cool spot.  Not pretentious, just laid back.

So, this was my first virginal experience to Dantanna's, and I have to say, I didn't like it.

Accompanied by a co-worker, we decided to go somewhere we never been, and well, not to give our hard earned money to a chain restaurant.

First of all, the don't order a burger if you're hungry.  Thinking I was going to get a mouth watering, burger I could sink my teeth in, I only was served half portion.  Come on, seriously, who eats just half a burger?! Were they trying to tell me to watch my cholesterol or something?

Secondly, DO NOT get the Asian Chicken Salad!  It is full of the thick, yellow iceberg lettuce, unflavored chicken, and a very pungent teriyaki sauce.

Let's just say, I'm glad I didn't pay for lunch.  My meal wasn't worth it.

I would never had guessed so many people would like Dantanna's so much!  I suppose it reflects my general disdain for Sport's Bars.  Still, however upscale it might be, the food is not the focus, IMO, and thus the overall affect is lost upon me.

That said, it is swank and it has nice screen's.  Can't be all bad, I suppose?

I've been to Dantanna's several times for happy hour and always had a good time. Upscale enough to feel comfortable in work attire, but a good vibe for unwinding and plenty of tvs to catch sports scores.
I recently ate lunch here and was impressed. I had the burger, but the star was the fries. Crispy and tasty!

What a great place Datanna's is, especially if you are a sports hound. The crowd is always cool, food is excellent, and staff is friendly...damn, I should go there now! I like the outdoor seating, weather permitting, which is about 10 months out of the year since it is covered and it has small TVs on each table. Oh yeah...and the walk in cigar humidor is cool!

Only bad thing I can say is that a server was blatantly hitting on my date one night as I was in the restroom, even asking her for her phone number, and although the parking is ample, you risk getting a boot from the over zealous parking troll.

Another example of how outstanding service can turn a good dining experience into a great one.

I used to be a server. In spite of or perhaps because of that fact, I tend to be skeptical of servers that remind me of myself as a server - early twenties, skinny arms, that sort of thing. So I had low expectations for our young, relatively skinny-armed waitress, and she blew me away. As did the helpful attitude I sensed from all the staff at Dantanna's.

First, our table for eight was waiting for us when we got there, complete with high chair. The first group of people was permitted to sit at the table before the remainder of the party arrived. I am always extremely pleased with a restaurant when I don't have to wait for stragglers.

Second, the server handled the baby situation well. Without being asked, she brought the almost-two-year-old one of those disposable placemats and crayons. The baby's mom asked the server to bring her food out as soon as it was ready, and the server did so, and quite quickly too.

Third, when I asked whether the fish tacos could be made without shrimp, she said she thought so but that she would ask. She immediately ran off to ask, and then returned with an affirmative answer. Score! When I asked for a box later, she offered to do it for me, and did so quickly.

Fourth, she split the checks without our asking (to my knowledge no one asked), didn't make any mistakes, and was very efficient when running our credit cards.

As is probably already evident, I had the fish tacos with no shrimp.  They were served with two sides even though the menu suggests you only get one.  I picked asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes.  Everything was delicious except for, ironically, the fish. It was too... fishy. It tasted like cheap tuna, but I can't be sure. The desserts looked AMAZING, I'm going to have to go back to try them sometime.

Dantanna's is the perfect place to go day or night, weekday or weekend.  I have been to Dantanna's dozens of times and can't say enough good things about the food and service.  Typically I go solo during the week to get away from the stress of the office.  I sit at the bar, chat w/ the weekday bartender, read the paper and watch the huge plasma screen televisions.
They have a wide variety of menu options from burgers, salads and sandwiches to filet and lobster at night.  During the week they have great lunchtime pasta specials that are quite the steal - yummy too.  Management prides themselves in good service and it shows.

If you think a "grown-up sports bar" is an oxymoron, then you haven't been to Dantanna's. Read on and learn . . .
First of all, it's got the perfect decor combination of polished wood and big screen entertainment - from the expansive bar to the booths and outdoor patio, both boys and girls can be comfortable here. Second, the TV's are well-situated so that no matter where you sit, you have the view you want if a game's on your mind. Most importantly? The food and people-watching are top-notch.
Not too many places that are good for a game are also good for dining - Dantanna's is one major exception! The burgers are great, as is the steak. Their "bar food" menu contains all the classics, and the steak skewers and chicken fingers are awesome. They round out the menu with fancier options like calamari (it has pieces of fried artichokes mixed in, giving it a special twist) and their vegetable sides range from perfectly-seasoned fries to really good asparagus. Added bonus? They do take out all night long- and they're open way past midnight! Oh - and there are usually lots of guys around so it's a great spot for perusing if you're a girl!

The sports bar theme here is so understated, I barely noticed it until reading Rebecca O. and J.D.'s reviews.

We went to Dantanna's during lunch, and walking into the interior immediately brings a soothing quality - thanks to the dark woods and probably helped by the freezing temperature. The large space has seating options that run the gamut from restaurant to bar area (great spots for viewing the giant sports-playing televisions) and covered patio (where we chose to sit, despite the monsoonlike thunderstorm).

Well respected for their seafood and steaks, the dinner menu prices would reserve this for me as a 'special occasion' place.  Lunch, however, has some strong choices in the $10 - $15 range; I got the 'freuben' - fried tilapia, cabbage slaw, Swiss cheese & Russian dressing. It was fantastic. Greasy, but fantastic.  Though the menu says sandwiches come with fries or potato salad, the waiter said any side item can be substituted. Garlic mashed potatoes. Good.

Not a shocker since they bill themselves as a 'Surf 'n Turf' restaurant, but vegetarians will find the menu here a challenge. If carnivorous friends drag you here, try the portabella quesadilla or spinach salad. Or just drink lots of beer.

I didn't visit, but apparently there's also the Buckhead Cigar Lounge at Dantanna's, complete with smoking lounge and leather sofas.

This versatile restaurant is comfortable and works if you need a spot for a wheelin' dealin' business dinner in Buckhead, a place to watch the game or celebrate with a giant amount of steak and seafood.

Or even just somewhere to lunch and dish about your coworkers.

The class and sophistication of Morton's meets ESPN zone.  This was highly recommended by a bar tender at the Ritz-Carlton.  The self proclaimed  premier surf and turf sports bar in Atlanta definitely served up a better than expected meal while I  caught up on some needed Thursday night Football on their crystal clear HD Plasma TV's.  I am surprised this combination never crossed my mind.
Everything from mahogany walls to the bar set up and patio made this a truly remarkable eating experience.  The lamb chop with sweet mashed potatoes was phenomenal!
Luckily San Francisco does not have something similar to offer, otherwise, I could see myself living and working to sustain my lifestyle with Dantanna's

If you do not get the lamb then don't talk to me. Ohh its good. Its really really good. I don't go in for the sports bar part, but you barely notice unless you are looking for it. I like that I don't have to fight so hard to get my husband to go out someplace 'nice' when I mention Dantanna's. I have had at least one bad experience there so I can't give it a 4 or 5. If I only reviewed the lamb it would be a 7. Yes, it really is that good. Stop reading reviews and just go. And if I am wrong then write your own review. Deal?

3 words: Pork chop heaven!  If it was not for the bartender Joey, I'd definitely have walked out; he's probably one of the most courteous in the business and truly treats his patrons with respect and timely service.  The La Creme Pinot Noir pairs well with the organically raised pork and a definite must have; this meal was close to the one I had in Chicago.  I don't usually rave about Pork chops unless when I have a good time.  Beware of laptop totting women that are socially challenged and have "bad energy" - observations from my time watching the game.  There was many nice people having a good time, mostly yuppies :)

If you're an avid reader of my reviews (which I highly suggest if you're not) you're aware of my impending boredom when forced to watch sports.  However, if I must be surrounded by sports fans and watching a game, I want to be at Dantanna's.  The food is far more upscale than at most other sports bars, and the TV screens are big, which means you can see them while sitting happily at a table -- you don't have to cram your body into a crowd at the bar, although plenty of people do that anyway.

Food choices range from surf and turf to a Reuben sandwich, salads and onion rings.  Friendly to all tastes.

Dantanna's provides the upscale sports bar atmosphere of a FOX Sports Grill or ESPN Zone without hitting you over the head with the big corporate souvenirs and name brands of the other two. The prices are similar and the viewing atmosphere is comparable, but the food at Dantanna's is typically better than the other upscale sports bars.

Dantanna's has one of the biggest TV's I've ever seen in the bar. The picture quality is phenomenal, and it's a good atmosphere to get a group of friends together to watch a game. The staff is good, service is much better here than FOX or ESPN Zone as well. The final touch that puts it over the top versus its competitors is the big patio that overlooks Lenox Mall. True, the view is kind of blah, but outdoor seating with plasma screens so you can still watch sports is a winner with me every time.

his is another venue that has been 3 different things in the past 8 years. When I was in college this was home to Benigan's, a bar and restaurant where a couple of my classmates made extra cash. Then it became Monty's and I was really sad to see this one go. The stone crab claws were to die for and the bartenders and manager were the best.

Now it is Dantanna's, which to me is almost a mix of the two former residents. It is a seafood restaurant that wants to have other options as well. I liked my food but I wasn't overly impressed. The one thing I will commend the new owners on is putting in more TV screens to give this place a more upscale sports bar look and feel. As a stand alone restaurant with no inside entertainment, this venue just couldn't seem to find it's niche. Now at a minimum, Dantanna's can contend with the bar crowd at nearby Clubhouse.

Dantanna's is a very different animal than your average neighborhood sports bar.  Gone are the framed jerseys and random home town bric-a-brac.  In their place you will find tasteful decorations, calm lighting (no neons), and top of the line projection televison images.  the menu reads more like a fine steak house than a sportsbar.  Most of the dishes are executed very well.  They have a big variety here, everything from lobsters to aged steaks.  Other complex dishes include lamb shanks, crab legs, and some nice salads.  you can still order a burger or wings as well.  the bar fills up quickly on big game days, but the dining room reamains surprisingly comfortable.  I think of Dantannas as more of a neighborhood restaurant than an actual sports bar, because to be quite honest this isn't the best place to watch a game--it is however a great place to eat, drink and meet with friends.  Parking is free in the around Lenox Lot, do not however leave your car in that lot to go across the way to Lenox mall as your car  will be booted within minutes upon you doing so.  Look out for the white "rapist van", he is looking out for you to boot your ride!

This is not only a great sports bar wth plenty of energy, but the food here is great as well.  Th service is really nice and quick and the waiter that I had was he nicest guy.  Good dessert recommendation and he even sat down with me for a second to talk.  Very friendly.  The appetizer salad that  I had was really tasty, as it had so many different flavors with the sweetness of the fresh berries (raspberries, blackberries and blueberries) and tropical fruit to the other flavors of the mixed greens, tomatoes and crab meat.  Very delicious.  The entree was a special for the night that was was chamazing with pecan crusted pan seared halicut cheeks with sides of mashed sweet potatoes and asparagus with also a side of sauteed spinach.  I love my greens.  The dish was a hefty portion, but so good.  The combo of sweet potato with the halibut made for a killer taste.  For dessert, the waiter said that the bananas or the peanut butter mousse cake were the best so I went with the mousse cake just becaue he said it was addicting.  It was goo but not the best dessert I've ever had.  Very good though.  I'll have to get the bananas next time.  There are televisions everywhere with plenty of noise abound.  There was about a twenty minute wait but that's fine with me.  I walked some college football and baseball while waiting.  Those crazy Red Sox.  TVs everyweher so no worries there.  This is great for a night out with some buddies or for a business pow-wow.  Enjoy.  It's hard to find, but right behind the Lenox Mall on the first left on Peachtree after the mall.  Surprisingly, priced very well for what you get.
