We were trying to save gas because I was on empty and Moon only had half a tank so we walked over to Wasabi for some sushi and sake. Although I normally order sashimi, we went for some rolls since that seemed to be the thing to order here. My favorite was the "Cherry Blossom" box sushi, which was very clean and tasty. My only complaint was that the fish--while fresh--was very cold. I find that there is a very delicate line between too warm and too cold that most place have to master when serving raw fish. When fish is too cold, the flavor is muted. Despite that one complaint, we had a nice meal and the staff was great. It was also quite affordable and the sake was delicious. We both said we'd go back the next time we got a case of the lazies and wanted to dine somewhere in my hood.

One of those places I've been eager to try for a while - its petite and clean interior (not to mention hot pink walls) called my name. There are a very few number of tables in here, so if you've got a big group, not a place to head to. . . you'd take up the entire restaurant. The modern interior is quite appealing and the sushi tasted fresh and very 'clean.'

Again, what can I say....THE BEST SUSHI IN ATLANTA!!!
I stopped by yesterday (Tuesdays are Neighborhood Night if you want to hang with the locals) to meet up with friends and ordered up my favorites...The Pink Lady and Bubble Gum. Also tried a new roll called the Candy Box which was pretty good!
The owner and staff are always friendly and amazing! Definitely Castleberry Hills own modern day version of Cheers...where everybody really does know your name!

This is the best sushi for the money in ATL. I can see MF Sushi from my window...and I haven't been there since I discovered Wasabi -- THAT GOOD!
The atmosphere is pretty stellar to boot.

Great addition to Castelberry- a local favorite of mine.
The menu at Wasabi is unique and geared more towards true sushi lovers- the fish has been consistently fresh, tasty and unique- not to mention beautiful. If your version of sushi is your occasional "California Roll" as an appetizer- keep yelping!
This is a great place to kick it with some cool peeps- as well as enjoy some delicious sushi. Mad love to you guys down Wasabi way-

I dined at WASABi during lunch, when my best friends from elementary school surprised me with an invitation to join them. I had such a great time nibbling on the delicious sushi rolls while reminiscing over how retarded we used to act. At one point, when we brought up our tactics for torturing a substitute teacher, I almost squirted the light, hot green tea out of my nose.
Anyway.
I ordered the Special Lunch A: eight California roll pieces, along with four pieces each of supercrunch and spicy tuna. Starving, I inhaled the California and spicy tuna pieces, while slowing down on the mediocre-tasting supercrunch.
I quickly slurped the miso soup that arrived as an appetizer, too--the broth had a nice hint of peanut...
I also sampled my friends' bullseye and aloha rolls, kicking with jalapeño and mango, respectively--a nuance to set the rolls apart from the rest.
The decor was rather bland, although the waitress, Annie, and chef, Jen, were really fun. Their friendliness compensated for the minimalist decorative scheme.
I'm so glad I now know about WASABi--just a mile or so away from my office in Castleberry Hill. Restaurants like this make me want to eat out more often during lunch, instead of brown-bagging it.

I realized that I hadn't yelp'd some of my neighborhood fave's, of which WASABi is definitely one of. It quickly took the place of other sushi places that my husband and I used to go to and as most reviews say, "it's what a neighborhood sushi bar should be."
The place is small, there's plenty of street or lot parking (shared with No Mas down Haynes St), the food is fresh, yummy and consistent (thanks Nhan and Jen), service is friendly and attentive (thanks Joel) and they have great cocktails (thanks Becca)!

The boyfriend wanted sushi for his birthday, and at the suggestion of a collegue we headed to Blue Fin in Sminings. Walked in the front door to be greeted by a stinky wall-o-sewage, turned around and headed back out.
From a parking lot I looked up yelp reviews and we decided on Wasabi (which was a heck of a lot closer to home than Blue Fin) and it is now officially my new favorite sushi place in ATL.
The previous reviews are pretty right on: it's a small place with good clean (IKEA-esque) decor and of the six people there, I knew one. The waitress was super friendly and just the right of not-hovering aloof, which was especially nice since we were taking our time.
The nigiri sampler was six large, fresh pieces of fish that we DEVOURED. The saki sampler was adorable: five little cups in a matching "boat".
Though I tried to resist based on the name, the bubble gum roll had a description I couldn't deny. Both that and the Philly roll were perfect: not too fat, not too small, fresh fish, rolled nice and tight.
Several regulars came and went during our visit, which in my eyes is another tribute to the service and the quality of food.
As much as I was tempted to give this place a crappy review in hopes of keeping it for myself, that just wouldn't be right. So here's my advice: go.

Small, quiet, clean and in an interesting neighborhood. The beauty here is that you can never really get lost in the shuffle and noise like you can at a larger joint like Rusan.
Not a terribly expansive or ambitious sushi menu, but everything we ordered was pleasing and fresh. The Bubble Gum roll is great.

I love this little spot. I head there a good bit for lunch. They have a great lunch menu that's super affordable and it's the place is never that busy. I also love hitting Wasabi up for dinner since they have Sapporo on draft and tons of drinks to entice you like the "X-rated Rock Star on Acid".
They get major props for playing the BEST music for a sushi spot. I mean, 80's music while you sip on your miso soup? You can't beat it.
There is some off street parking in the area, but I recommend the valet shared with No Mas.
UPDATE: They only serve lunch on Thursdays and Fridays. Closed on Sundays.

We decided to try a new sushi place as we freqent Rusan's which I think is generally ok.
I was quite surpised at the freshness of the food here and soon realized that what I had been eating was less than fresh.
Their menu is small, especially for true veggitarians. They only have tree dishes veggie friendly. My boyfriend ate the regular sushi and seemed happy. I did miss the 30+ options at Rusans but the freshness of the food made up for it.
The atmosphere was cool. It is a small place in castleberry hill. Very artys, good atmopheric lighting. It looked like a sushi BAR....like a swank little bar. They played good indie music as well.
I will go back -- but there is not much more I can try than I already had. Still it was good.

I absolutely adore this new addition to the Castleberry Hill district. I went with a couple of friends last night for sake and sushi and absolutey fell in love with the place. The sushi is hands-down among the best in Atlanta, and the cutesy names of some of the rolls -- Pink Lady, Candy Box, Cherry Blossom -- added a litte more character to the place. The quaint little spot immediately reminded me of a sushi restaurant you would find in New York -- hip, trendy and buzzing with excitement! There were only a handful of people in there with us, but there was still a vibe of energy that seemed to keep everyone lingering there for hours. Oh, and they serve unfiltered sake. That's good to note in case you're like me and cannot stand the filtered versions that are usually served in sushi restaurants.

I was recently introduced to Wasabi by a few friends one of whom is friends with the owner, As soon as we sat we were greeted by a smaller statured asain man visibly having a great time He was introduced as Nan the owner and that it was his birthday. He then offered us saki on the house and free beer out of his two birthday kegs of Sapporo! How many times does an owner say " have as many as you want" That was the start of a great dinner the place is super clean very well designed and so well priced. The food was amazing, my favorite was the Tami Wami roll, Lobster salad deep fried. I cant say enough about the place I have always just grabbed a quick bite at ru's but this is a place to take notice of!

This place gets an A for effort, but that is about it. Yes, the food was fresh, but I've never really come across any bad fish here in ATL. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy, very pleasing to the Spartan eye. I did enjoy my meal, but it wasn't anything to write home about. For the same price, I could go to Harry's and get three times as many menu choices and also have enough room to swing my chopsticks if I so chose. I'll come back to Wasabi, but only if someone else is footing the bill.

I ate sushi here last night, for the second time ever, and I was not disappointed with any aspect of this restaurant. Actually, I have now become such a big fan of sushi, I can't figure out why I ever tried to avoid it in the first place.
Since I am still a rookie when it comes to eating Sushi, I did not venture out into the unknown and order something from the menu that contained an abundant amount of uncooked fish products. That's right, I decided to be a sissy and just oder the Spicy Tuna and California Rolls. I did have the urge to order some of their spider rolls, mainly because all of my friends closed their eyes and chewed slowly every time they put one of the rolls in their mouth.
As far as the quality of the food is concerned, I really do not have any other Sushi bar experiences to compare and contrast the quality of Wasabi's food against. I did however think the sushi was pretty damn tasty.
The inside of Wasabi is really small, but that helps make the experience here even more unique. I felt like I was one of the few privileged insiders who knew about this cool hole in the wall sushi bar.
The interior furnishing at Wasabi strongly resembles and correlates with the design of some of the rooms you would see on display at Ikea. The bar stools are clear and made out of a light plastic material that felt cheap, but looked cool. The various seating arrangements Wasabi offeres gives customers the luxury of choosing to sit at either a normal dining table, a high rise table, or at the bar in front of all of the action that takes place during the preparation of the sushi entrees.
Wasabi overall is worth the trip or visit if you are in the area. I had excellent service from one of the good looking female waitresses named Amanda, who I strongly recommend you ask for when you stop by.

So we finally made it to check out Wasabi! See my No Mas review - it was closed the first time we tried.
It was good - nothing extraordinary - but still good.
The prices are usual for an Atlanta sushi restaurants. I thought the drinks were a little over priced (but then again I did go for the cute named girly drinks!) The Ginger Cosmo was very good.
We got probably 6-8 orders of rolls. Everything was very fresh and tasted good. I thought their selection was unique from other sushi places and offered some fun combinations.
It's a little place - only 5 or so tables then the sushi bar and little bar bar. Service was good and friendly. Restrooms were fun - they have chalkboard walls and chalk - so you can write messages on the walls.
I'm still getting used to Castleberry Hill - I was a little sketched out by some of the people on the street, but its definitely a part of town I want to explore more! It's only 3 short miles from Grant Park - so I'm sure we'll be going back!

Fantastic sushi! The chef from EA Thai and Sushi is now at Wasabi and it shows. I was very wowed at the fresh sushi and yummy choices.
*edit*
I just had to add to my original review.
We stopped by Wasabi this past Friday during the thunderstorm. They had no power but welcomed us in. We were told they had a limited menu and could only accept cash. I started running down the list of sushi I wanted and they had all my choices covered. I had cash. Everyone wins!
We delighted in Pink Bubblegum, Bulls Eye, StackeDD, some spicy tuna and philly rolls. All was yummy.
Lemon Drop shots were passed around (on the house). Service was attentive. Everyone was in a good mood despite no electricity.
Just as we finished our meal, the power came on.
Wasabi could have easily closed their doors when the power went out. Instead they made lemonade out of lemons and did it well.
I love this place even more now!

I'm diggin' on this place, the neighborhood in general, so my review is a little biased, I'd say...Still, we ordered mainly Nigiri (which was fresh) and
enjoyed the kinda funky drink menu. Avoided the sushi rolls because I can't stand mayo w/ sushi, but the names of the rolls were cute and I'm a sucker for that stuff. Didn't try it this time, but there's a drink involving wasabi...I'm working up the gumption to try it next time around. Great way to end a night at the Castleberry Art Stroll. Cheers!

Yummy sushi in Atlanta?!
Oh yeah, I was surprised too...but you've got to check this place out. The nigiri is fresh, and well-prepared. My shrimp basil roll was delicious, and the ahi poke is really flavorful and comes with tasty, crunchy soba chips. Sake selection is good, and of course they have the ever-popular list of sake-tinis to sample from.
The list of house rolls is a bit on the safe side, so don't worry about accidentally ordering something scary - it won't happen. For kicks, try the Orange Kiss roll...its crunchy and fresh, with a little bit of shrimp and a lot of spice. Worth a try!
Be advised: There is 100% free parking in the back.

Love this place. No second rate noodle dishes here; it's all about the sushi and it's fresh, inventive and delicious. Prices are reasonable and you can even customize your own roll if you don't see exactly what you want on the menu. My favorite regular place for sushi in Atlanta.
